WATERWALL HOUSE
Adapting its sloping site into a continuously flowing stream, the Waterwall House is an austere meditation of the flow of elements and time. Springing from two rooftop falls, water meanders around and into the living spaces of the house, when coupled with verdant bamboo plants forms a cascade of pools akin to living on a waterfall.
Attached to, yet detached from its three-and-a-half storey fair-faced concrete wall, triple-volume atria and cantilevered walls present a shifting backdrop to inhabitation, opening up public spaces to air and light while concealing private spaces deep within the volume.
At night, the brightly lit interiors glow bright, de-materialising the house through its filigree screens.
